Top drive is SATA...bottom drive is IDE.

Well mate, you should be more specific next time, lol. The link I posted shows the difference.

Or if you want the short version: SATA is much faster.

EDIT: Lemme rephrase that. It has the potential to be much faster.

Dude, I mean, preformance-wise ...

Nowhere in your post did I see the word 'performance' ;).

They're going to be the same, unless you are able to perfectly somehow get the exact right condtions to take use of the 3.0gh/s bandwidth SATA2 offters...not much of a difference besides smaller cables really.

Potential, means potential.
Active, means currently in the process of ;)

Mate, I've had a few English classes in my day.

But to reply to what you SEEM to be trying to say: why buy something that has limited potential when for the same, or sometimes LESS cost, you can get something with a higher speed potential?

Not to mention IDE cables are annoying as crap.

SATA drives are cheaper nowadays, and are generally having a larger cache (which contributes to the larger speed boost...as well as most higher RPM'd drives are SATA too).

Hehehe, my new case got here, freakin HUGE.lol nice LEDs, but my cpu fan decided to take a nap the first couple minutes ( :pPPP)
