Need the best one that you can buy for $0-45. Fast, for quick writing, linux installing (having a lot of trouble here), and like maybeh gaming? Well w/e just need a freakin' amazing one. Eww, no blu-ray plox, I just don't like BLU-Ray, intel, ATi, etc.

Really, most drives are pretty much the same. But don't get that one, it's IDE. Grab a SATA one like this:

Uh oh.. A little problem there >_>, plus my drive bays are literally feet from my sata connectors, and I live near microcenter, I think it may be cheaper just to go to microcenter, thanks though!

It's really a matter of preference. I would get the SATA, but he wants the IDE and the Microcenter is close to him, so it works out.

I want to get it, but I grabbed a free IDE DVD-burner from a junk machine in the shop. Since I already had IDE drives, it wasn't a huge problem for me with my modded IDE cables, lol.
