1920x1200 lol man most computer monitors out today can do resolutions higher than that and pretty much any of the really high end cards can power higher resolutions on a 24 to 26 inch monitor with out going sli you might not get insane frame rate but hey as long as its in the 35 to 40 range you are good

lolwut? the only resolution higher than 1920 x 1200 is 2560 x 1600...and those are HIGH dollar. 1920 x 1200 is the second highest monitor resolution. nothing under 22" (to my knowledge) does it. most 22" are 1680 x 1050, some 23" are 2048 x 1152, then 30" are 2560 x 1600. there may be a few 24-26" that do 2560, but i dont know which ones they are. 1920 x 1200 is not a common resolution unless you are a gamer.

I had the same reaction

lolwut?

ditto

also, I must say that the 5k range for a PC is only reasonable if it's a major workstation computer meant to push a lot of power, even then if I see someone buy an "extreme" edition CPU for god knows how much all I do is shake my head...

How much gaming are you going to be doing? If you're going to be playing intense shooters that eat a lot of FPS, ie Crysis, GTA IV, Farcry 2, then your rig (custom built) should come up to about $1,300.00

If you are just going to be doing regular gaming with games that are pretty decent graphics and yet fun, ie FEAR 2, CoD 4 or 5, Bioshock, then your rig should come out to be $899.00 custom built.

If you're going to be gaming at high resolutions, I highly suggest getting a video card with 1GB of dedicated memory.

Hmm not sure where that came from but your prices are very generalized and strange (i.e. $899 lol). Anyways, pretty much everything has already been covered in the last like 8 pages so you didn't provide any help. And with the video card.... 1gb video card means nothing. Its the gpu that counts. I could get a 4350 with 1gb memory and it would absolutely blow at anything more than like 1024x768 and i still wouldn't do very well at all. Then I could get a 4870 with 1gb memory and it would be awesome. Thats one of the top cards out. The gpu is what matters most.

Added sound card.
