LGA775 DDR2 SLI mobo recommendations

Haven't been up on my SLI mobos recently, have a friend asking for advice, how is this guy for OC'ing his quad and SLI 260's?

If they can fork out a little bit more i'd shoot for the 790i

Didn't even pay attention to what ram it used

Could always go for the 780i version.

Looking at atleast an $80 upgrade here for the 780i over 750i, is it worth that?

I'd go for it. I had an EVGA 780i board, rock solid for overclocking and rock solid all around.

I would stick to the 750FTW. The regular 780i doesn't even come w/ solid caps and is only 6 phase. If you do go 780 I would surely get the FTW version w/ solid caps and 8 phase power. Plus do you really need 3 way sli?

He has dual 260's and I can't see him going for a third, two is more than he needs already considering he's mostly a WOW player...lol, i don't know why he even got the second.

I'll check and see if he's up for another $60-$80 above the 750i, the reviews seem to support the 750i as a very good card and compare its OCability to par with the 780i. So short of the third slot I don't see it being much of an upgrade.

edit:

Checking local retailers: $175 for the 750i FTW @ ncix.com and $270 for the 780i FTW at newegg.ca, not many places stocking the 780i FTW in CAN. $95 dollar difference.
