Problem with ASUS M2N and 6000+

Is there any reason a AMD Brisbane 6000+ wont work on an ASUS M2N - E SLI?

I put it all together and plug it in and get the green light on the MB but no other signs of life, so I unplugged everything except the CPU and PSU and get nothing.

I'm thinking its the PSU (an old Antec True 430) but I don't feel like tearing apart my new build to use that PSU.

Says you need bios version 1201 or higher. Could be you have an older bios version that does not support that particular cpu. If this is the case flash the bios.

but you need to have some sort of power to get into the bios to flash it, right now its DOA, having my nephew run me a PSU to see if thats the issue, might be a day or two before he can make it out here

Turns out it was the PSU as I thought.
