NorthWood VS. Prescott

Yeah....if you wanna go on ahead and get the Prescott, I'm not stopping you, just make sure you got some gooooood cooling stuff to go along with it. Oh yea, the reason my cpu and mobo temps were in the 50sC just idle was because they sat in a ver tight spot...now they sit on top of my desk and there was a 7-9 degree drop. Yah!!! =)

I heard that you really dont get the full potential of the Prescott until you have the 3.6 chip, so go with Northwood for now until Prescott hits the 3.6 mark.

I would say go with the northwood unless you're going all out with the 3.6 just as ICEDRAGON said. I have a 2.8 Northwood, and it's sitting right now at 90F, and these puppies can overclock like nobody's business without getting too hot.

Northwood is definitely better, theres a 3.4 Northwood processor out, and its cheaper than the Prescott.

Besides Northwoods are the best processors if you wanna get into overclocking.
