I have a P6IWP-FE motherboard.
My cmos time is acting up. The seconds tick by like 1000's. and I have no clue how to fix it. I know my battery is fine. The time is just counting forward very very fast. It's making my windows not keep time at all. I have to reset every 5 min, because it jumps forward 2 hours. It is driving me mad.

Is my motherboard ruined?
Tks.

Windows XP Home
600mhz
512 sdram
810 intel Gph.chip w/h accelerator.

nobody huh?...lol

hmmm how old is the motherboard? it sounds pretty old from the specs in your post above.

how do you know the battery is fine? have you replaced it with a new one yet and then reset the cmos?

Okay....that's a new one. You will need to attempt to reflash that bios. Go to you mobo manufacturers web site and do a bios update or reflash the bios. MAke sure it is the bios flash for exactly the same mobo model or your mobo becomes a frisbee!!!

BTW. A P3 system? OMG, time to spend some money! Your system resides in the stone ages!!!
