Originally I wanted laptop however I'm going to wait for win7 and cheaper ssd's! I have listed my current computer setup, what it's main uses are, and some ideas I have for upgrades. Please comment or suggest different parts!

You will probably need a new mobo. I couldn't find that one on newegg and I'm assuming you got it awhile ago based on your parts.

OP, are you playing on a 19" LCD that is in your sig? If so the 4870x2 would be a waste at that resolution. To get full benefits of their power, you need resolution of like 1920 x 1200 or above. Unless you're planning to upgrade your monitor. I'd suggest getting a 4870 1Gb instead.

Yeah, you definitely dont need an X2 unless you get a better monitor. You could grab just a regular 4870 512mb and it would suit you fine.

I have been considering upgrading from my 19'' in the sig, yes. What is quality in the world of LCD gaming monitors? 22v24 inch? Low MS would be vital, but also quality. Ballpark price range for a monitor upgrade 300?

The difference between 5ms and 2ms is not noticeable. But here are some good monitors:
