Alright, this is for a dude in my cod clan. He's got a budget of $600. I'm probably also going to build another similar with a little bit better stuff for my family to be hooked up to a 52" 1080p lcd tv. Just look this over, and tell me what you think.

Am I forgetting anything? I'm assuming he has an OS, keyboard, mouse, and monitor. For the family build, I'm thinking of either an e8400 or e8500 for the cpu, and a 1 gig 4870 for the vid card.

What do you think of the build?

Yup you should be good to go. Tell him to get the 4870, it is way better than the regular gtx260.

I was going to go with an e7400 build but i was told the amd phenom II combo posted above is better

Is it really? It's triple core. Intel doesn't have any triple-core processors, do they?

I guess for the family build, I'm going to go with the core 216 just because I want the farcry 2. I'll need to buy an hdmi cable, and I"m assuming the card comes with a converter. What kind of audio cables am I going to need for the tv? Also, what's a good reasonably priced wireless mouse and keyboard I could get?

How is this:
Newegg.com - Microsoft BV3-00003 Black 102 Normal Keys 17 Function Keys USB + PS/2 RF Wireless Standard Optical Desktop 1000 - Keyboards
Newegg.com - Logitech LX7 931395-0403 Blue 5 Buttons Tilt Wheel USB or PS/2 RF Wireless Optical 1100 dpi Mouse - Mouse

Yeah that's what I was told. The black edition is a good overclocker too, and with the extra core it would perform better with certain programs I believe. And it's much cheaper. I don't have experience with intel, and don't yet have experience with the x3 (though in the next few days i will!) but that's what I was told.
