Cd drive just stopped working..

alrite i recently moved my computer and when i placed it back the cd drive was not workign... does anyone have tips on how to troubleshoot / fix it it is a lite on ltn4865 at 48x...

when i put the disk in it does not do anything and then if i like go to access the drive it does not even recognize a disc

Does the drive show up in my computer or does windows not see it at all? Also, if it does see it, if you right click on the drive and click explore does it do that or does it just do nothing or does it start to lock up.... Is this ANY type cd, or does it maybe work with music but not data or vice-a-versa...

Check your IDE cable.

Its installed and working according to my computer but for some reason with any disk i put in it does not read it..

Yes check to see if you have the IDE cable connected to your cd-rom drive

try Uninstalling the Driver for the CD Rom in the Hardware Wizard after checking the IDE cable . re install the software and check whether it identifies the CD Rom or not !!
