ok thanks man, would i need to set it as a slave or no ? :S how would i do that if its an external

to elaborate on that point, if it is IDE, there should be a group of pins on the back of the drive, usually with MA SL and CS written over it. To set it to slave, just put a jumper on the pins with SL written over them.

However, as stated, if the drive is SATA (which I strongly suspect it is) then all you need to do is plug in a sata cable and power cord. No other configuration needed.

theres no power connector on the back of the external? it is sata i had the cord plugged in but theres nothing for power..? wtf

i know lol i took it out of the casing and theres no like.. spot for the power cord? its a Comstar case? but the drive itself is a western digital...

The hard drive has no spot for a power cable..? Neither SATA nor 4 pin molex?

If you could get a picture, that would be great.

yeah give me about 10 mins to take it outta the case again lol, and if you dont mind i have a few more questions about the set up u did for me a few days ago :) pm or that thread, your choice haha
