Newegg.com - HIS Hightech H483QS512P Radeon HD 4830 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

also if you can stretch your budget on the cpu then i suggest getting this one instead.

why do you have a micro atx board with onboard gfx when you are getting a dedicated card.

Agreed with Phillbar and gt7..

Also another nice alternative to the 9800GT 1GB is the HD 4830 1GB, but I'd get the HD 4850/GTS 250 for a little more

philbar . . .

what is the alternative CPU you suggest?

also, can anyone reccomend a good heatsink for the CPU? I'm looking to OC

The newer Q6600 has B3 stepping. It will run hotter and will overclock less compared to older Q6600 with G0 stepping.

The first q6600's were b3's that didn't clock well. The current q6600's are still g0's they just don't overclock as well as the earlier ones. So the q6600's went from B3 -> good g0 -> bad g0.

please explain g0 and b3 please . . . kind of an OC n00b
B3 is the older stepping on the Q6600
G0 is the newer stepping, improved power consumption, overclocks higher
however, the newer batch G0 Q6600s doesn't overclock very well either

if you were considering spending money on that 9800GT how about buying a used HD 4850 from me? :p
still 2+ years of warranty
$120 shipped

kill me if we aren't suppose to advertise on this part of forum :tounge:
