quick question , so i was thinking.. is it possible to take my external hard drive and place it in my case as an internal? so i could save on buying a second hard drive. would i need to like.. mod it or if i just took it out of its case would it be ready to go?

yep, it is. I did that with my 500gig external when I accidentally fried the external case :) just have an extra sata cable ready.

It varies with each drive on how to take it apart. Just look for screws and be careful/do it slow ;).

so all i ahve to do is pop off the case, and plug it into the sata cable ?

If its a SATA drive then yes. Could be IDE...all depends on what the company used at the time.

All you really need to know is it's just like a normal hard drive, except it's in a case.
the 'swapping' part also works inversely, e.g. if you have a drive which fits the ext. case you can swap that in for a 'new' ext hdd.
