New monitor

I'm buying a new monitor soon...ish.
anyway I'd like some suggestions as I've never really paid attention to LCD monitors. My budget is comfortably set at $200 or less. Yeah...that's all I can think to say...

21.5", does 1080p (1920x1080), average contrast, VGA+DVI+HDMI+SPDIF out, $180

Though you need to be a bit more specific, what size are you after, what resolution, what contrast, what connectivity (VGA, DVI, HDMI, or a mixture?) etc.

I'm using a 17" lcd thats max res is 1024.

but I thought maybe 1080P would make things too small on a 21.5"

That looks good (most Samsungs are excellent quality), better than the one I found after rebates. Doesn't have HDMI though, if you have a console or such that you'd want to use the monitor for?
