Why would you not play at the max resolution???

Having multiple GPUs has nothing to do with using multiple monitors. I am just saying that getting a 4870x2 with a 4870 is just not worth the money. The 4870 will play games wonderfully for awhile now. Make sure you get the 1GB version. It will be useful at that res

The 4890 will be released in the 1st week of April.....

latest rumors say it's still a RV770 55nm GPU, but 55nm has been perfected so apparently it will come with a core clock of 850-900mhz.

Yea but I bet the 4890s are gonna be like 400 dollars. that's a bit steep, never was one to buy brand new to just be "on top of it all" for a month. I am just now getting a multi core'd processor. lol.. went from p3 to i7, one major leap.


and since the 4870s are doing such a super performance right now, I really don't see why I should shoot for a higher card.

ouch.. the XFX just went up in price I think... 269.99 showing now... Thought it was less then that...

bleh at these rates I might as well wait for the 4890s as they are supposed to be around $300.

Well they have been getting cheaper here in the UK, can get a 1GB XFX 4870 for about 164 GBP shipped
