Hi there, I would like to ask guru that can I upgrade my laptop HDD to bigger storage? let's say from 40GB to 80GB or 160GB? Is there any limit? Do I need to consider anything on my laptop? I'm newbie here..:nerd: your help is appreciated most..thx

There probably isn't any limit unless your laptop is ancient, though you may have a bit of trouble with SATA drivers.

I bought my laptop (Fujitsu C1211) 4 years ago..is it an antic? :freak: I couldn't find any spec or info about my laptop HDD. What do you think?

Trotter, thank you for your info..

Btw, can i shift to another brand of HDD?
i read the review of a Fujitsu MHW2040AT 40GB OEM HDD from Newegg:
Cons: Slow And Unreliable. Every one of these drives that I have ever seen,
Have crashed.
Other Thoughts: I replace about 6 or 7 of them when my customers bring me their crashed Notebooks. Mostly in Gateway computers…

I just got the Seagate Momentus 120GB listed on that page last fall to put in my ThinkPad (its old IBM TravelStar 30GB died and I needed a replacement). It's a pretty good drive, though the Western Digitals are probably better.

thx all of you..

Seagate or Westerm Digital or other else? Which one is better? What storage capacity and RPM suit laptop most?
