- Ram is a waste to me... 6GB (I would think) should be more then enough to handle what you need. (but since you have 8GB now, I guess you use all of it?)

- Personally I would forget the 9800GTX, and go with the GTX 280 or better.

- I would also go with a smaller, single drive for the OS and apps, then keep a 1TB for media and such. It would be easier to handle CHKDSK, Defrag, etc... with a smaller drive on the fly, than that big monster.

There is no need for 12Gb of ram, you could settle for something like this instead:
Newegg.com - OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

This is a better cooler for the i7:
Newegg.com - XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks

Newegg.com - XIGMATEK ACK-I7361 CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks

I'd spend a little extra on the video card and get either a GTX 260 core 216, which can overclock to 280 speeds, or go for a GTX 285.

If this is a gaming computer the i7s power will really be wasted if you only use a 9800GTX+. As stated go either a HD4870 1GB, or GTX285 if you have more cash.
