Hi, building my first new system for a few years but am having some problems. I have the following kit:
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 940 Black Edition 3.0GHz
Asus M3A78-T AMD 790GX (Socket AM2+) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Antec Sonata III Piano Black Quiet Case - Black (EarthWatts 500W PSU)
Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 X 2GB) DDR2 8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX8500D2K24G)
Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (WD6401AALS)

Basically, the system won't boot up. When I switch on the power the mobo light comes on and the fans run but I am getting no output to my monitor or any err beep codes.
I have tried removing the memory but still no error codes.

Does anybody have any suggestions or know what the fault could be?

Many thanks in advance,
Liam

Have you ensured all power connectors are in? Namely 4- or 8-pin CPU connector, 24-pin power connector (well this obviously is since the mobo light comes on), and graphics card connector(s) if needed.

Is there a speaker in the mobo? If so and there is no post beeps i would suspect a bad mobo. But try re-seating all components and try each ram stick at a time like hefemeister said.
