yes, but since i removed all 4 sticks of ram, and put in 2 other sticks of ram & still had the same problem wouldn't that point to it not being an issue with the ram?

if you can't get to bios at all then it is probably not the RAM.

Either something isn't getting enough power or something else overheated and/or died.

Have you reset the cmos with the jumpers?

It might still be all coNufSeD from the new ram.

If you can, try the questionable ram in a working system.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that, some MB's are really picky about changing things.

Ok, how do i reset the cmos with the jumpers? is there some instruction on this somewhere? Everything was fine for a few months with the new ram, would it suddenly act up after that much time?

The instructions asre in your mobo manual. But basically, you switch the cmos jumpers, press start button a few times, wait 1 minute, put jumpers back. reboot.

So require you takeout the battery, just read u on cmos reset.

Just note, don't power cycle with it plugged up... That can cause some serious issue, but remove the RAM completly, and see if the computer throws off beep codes, that way we know it is still trying to post.
