Exchange Server- HELP ME!

I have a user that has not been in the office or logged into his comp in about 3 months. I opened his Outlook (2000) and it said "Microsoft Exchange Server unavailable... The Server containg the Global Address List is no longer available". I am running Exchange Server 2003 b.t.w. - Where do I begin here? I cannot open Outlook on his comp b/c it cannot connect to the Exchange Server - HELP!!!!!!

winxp? was sp2 installed? is the xp firewall enabled?

you should be able to remove and readd the account by right clicking the outlook icon (or goto mail in control panel) and click properties. This should bring up the accounts.
