DHCP Server wont read my Brother HL-2170W

I am trying to set up via Ethernet a "Brother HL-2170W". The problem lies in that my DHCP server wont recognize it and therefore it was assigned an IP address via APIPA it started with 169.254 etc. I cannot located the printer on the network. I would like to know how I can fix it either via changing the IP my self or getting the DHCP to read it.

Are you sure you set it up as a DHCP client? TBH though you should set it up with a static IP - it makes more sense.

if you have the manual it should have instructions on how to do so. i agree, a printer should have a static IP as it's a hassle if resources change their IP because they can no longer be accessed.
