also, what you could do, is take a card lying around(if you have any) and use that til you save up enough to buy a 6800(if you are a gamer) otherwise, you don't need to spend more than $150 to $200 on a vid card.

thanks for the help yes im trying to play games i want to play americas army and battle field 1942 smoothly so if you can recommend a good card that would be great i guess i can spend $200 on a good one thanks

Not sure what priority vid RAM is but you can get this :http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=14-102-320&DEPA=0 with 256 for $105 or this: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=14-102-268&DEPA=0 with a mere 128, but it's a later edition. i haven't tried either of these, especially since i'm not areal gamer (well...xbox). but check here: http://www.newegg.com/app/manufact.asp?catalog=48&DEPA=0 for all the vid cards on newegg

Get a 9800 pro for under 200 dollars on newegg.. probably the best bang for your buck right now and yes i guess i did forget the drives (probably because i dont use them often!!!)

yeah, i agree. the other one is just if you want something w/256 RAM, and again, i'm not sure what (if any) noticable difference there is, but go w/the 9800. Also, u may want to look into an AIW (all-in-wonder (includes TV Tuner, very useful)) card if you can find one in ur price range. (try froogling it)

i would say that the system posted by Soloman02 is the one to go for, although, i doubt you would use 250Gb, so you could save some money and get a slightly smaller one, like 120Gb or something. but make sure its SATA.

For the life of you, never ever get an eMachine. They are cheap for a reason, build quality. You can't upgrade those suckers unless you do memory only. My first system was an eMachine and since then, I just started building comps, I didn't want to deal with that poo again.

Mine's been working like a charm for 6+ months. i've put in 512 more RAM, DVD+R(W), another 160gb hd, AGP card, and a TV tuner. Fine so far.
