Friend has his desktop off, was cleaning his room a bit. Put his amp next to his computer and played a little bit, and went to turn his computer on...wouldn't boot.

It is probably because there was two magnets and there waves kept changing or w/e they are called then the speaker vibrated... Thus the same as moving across the drive.

it is an old myth that runnig a HDD through a magnetic field will erase all data.. now with components in general, a magnetic feild is like pouring Acid on your skin. will it delete the data no but it will sure mess up a peice of electronics.

sounds like a job for "Myth Busters" ;)

As said by peter, it will probably just screw it up.

Me and my friends where mucking around with a pretty strong magnet at school and managed to bend the Windows logo on our graphic computers into a L shape

Also the monitor went pwety coworz
