Question regarding dual and quad core processors.

If I have a Core2 Intel processor running at 2.4 Ghz does that mean the processor is running at 4.8 Ghz because each core is running at 2.4 Ghz. Does the same apply to a quad core processor as well.

It does not, it just means you have two cores of 2.4ghz each..

Same applies for Quads or any other multi-core

Like vern said. You don't add them up. It's KINDA like multiple cpu's. Dual is 2, quad is 4.
