Hi,
I have already started several threads on my i7 build that I want to get.
With the help and advcie of you guys I have made decisions on what parts to get, but now I'm not sure where to buy from.
I found a store that sells online and also in stores, and they have a branch where I live (Amsterdam), so that would be a big advantage if something does not work within the warranty period: I could just bring the PC to the store and they fix the problem for me.
I also found an online store that is farther away, which would mean if something is not working, I'd have to send the part(s) by mail to them and the shipping expenses would be on my charge. But this said online store does offer a much better deal, they are more than 10% cheaper.
Just to give you an idea: the cheaper store (online) would get me the system parts for 1870 US$ whereas the store located closeby would charge me for the same system about 2130 US$. Now that is a huge difference to me. Both prices are just the parts without assembly. I'd have to put them together myself. (Which I'm not sure yet if I could do it, BTW. But at a surcharge both stores also offer to assemble the system for me)
But then what if something does go wrong and I do have to return parts? In that case the mroe expensive store would not cost me anything, but the other store would require for me to ship the defective parts to them at my expense.
Do you guys have any experience with this?
Pros and Cons of ordering form an online store versus buying at a "real" store?!
I'd appreciate your opinions and thoughts on this.
Lars
