It gets that because it can't communicate with the router, try replacing the network cable it self, it is possible there is a break in the cable.

wow, that's nuts.... Who would have known that I would get 2 faulty cables back to back. I replaced the network cable for the 3rd time, now it works fine. Sometimes the tougher problems have the most simple solutions. Thanks for all your help guys! Now I just need to get my sound working again. But that's not a problem

It can happen, especialy with cat6 if your using that, small thin copper wires break rather easily.
