Hi, i not so recently got a kind of C-media sound card with 5.1 channel compatibility... i also got a 5.1 surround sound system. The thing i want to ask if should i enable XeaR technology or not. The thing is, when i watch Movies and that it seems slightly better surround sounded but when i watch using XeaR it doesn't. Then again when i listen to music performance is nice, whereas its not with the other one. The thing that i can't enable and disable it all the time is because you got to swop the cables with front by rear and vice versa. Just wondering on which should i really use for the best performance, my ears are immune to surround sound now so i cant really tell that well. Please if anyone can tell me, i would be greatful cheers

Well, there are a lot of smart and knowledgable people on this forum and I have learned quite a bit since my stay. But, I have also learned that it is impossible to know everything about every piece of hardware on the market and the software it uses. So, why not state what brand of sound card "some kind of" and system you are using, and maybe get some more information than just "XeaR" for us. And most likely you will get more replies, but of course, if no one has heard of XeaR, you prolly won't get any replies. If all the info you have is just "Xear", you might just be outta luck. I know I didn't help you at all by writing this, but I noticed you were getting angry because no one has replied and I wanted to state my mind.

Ok, so i was a bit hasty. I didn't know XeaR wasn't known well. Listen to my story:
XeaR is a 3D sound technology which swops the jack of the rear and front around. Causing
slightly better sound quality to the rear speakers as sometimes they aren't as loud as the
front as some of you may of found out. XeaR also allows the use of earphones to be used instead
of speakers, allowing this to work will make the sound more preciese on the rear sound still allowing
you to get the most out of 5.1 surround sound with the front, center and subwoofer still being in sound
range and quality.

On the actual box of mine, it says that its an Asus or something similar but its supposably a C-media card.
It could be a third party format like Sapphire is to ATI, but im not sure. XeaR is good with music though, what
it does allow you to get is 3D sound format from Stereo as really its only 2 speaker based, correct? Well this slightly
increases the dynamics of the sound increasing its performance and quality. In DVD's is where im stuck, i am unsure of whether
it is actually better or not. Its hard though, when you're used to surround sound trying to catch the way its done because im used
to it, i dont really care how its working as long as its working... if you get what im saying Anyway i'll be awaiting your reply.. again

Its different on Cable, you are allowed to do so but on british television atleast they don't allow it. Whereas in Japan, they would do Naked Newz and go on streets naked. In UK, it would be an act of undecentcy to the public. However, i don't see the big deal, its only our bodies, why should they be kept so secret from the world? Its natural!
