i just bought a bfg 9800gtx
what ati card will compare to and what ati card is better than it or outperforms it
of course ill be doing moderate overlcoking

are ati's better for overclocking


and how would a gtx 260 compare to sli'd 9800gtx's

picked up a new bfg 9800gtx for 45 bucks today but i can never get deals on ati cards
though i want one so bad

i get real confused with ati cards
4870 is a good one right

4850 is roughly on par with the 9800gtx (it outpeforms the 9800gtx in most scenarios) and the 4870 is better

My ATI 4850 overclocks pretty well, when I want it to.
Depends on the card really.
And yeah, the 4870 is a good card

The HD 4850 beats the 9800GTX and the +...

HD 4870 would beat both...

a 9800GTX in SLI beats GTX 260 but has more power consumption and in some games that don't work with SLI well, the GTX 260 would be better

A GTX 260 would be better when your throw on AA and AF, and an HD 4870 would be better with AA and AF than two 9800GTX's

thx guys, that video card ranking thread was greeat thanks for the link,
btw my 9800 seems to be running at 57celcius idle is that good, once i crank up ther fan to 100% is goes to 45

put the fan speed to 60% and it will idle about 45C (mine does anyways).

the 9800GTX+ and the 4850 are both about equal
