FSB settings not saving

For some reason when I try change my FSB settings in the bios, after the restart my system goes back to stock. The voltage settings save however, which is why this is puzzling? It's not the cmos battery either, I've tried that.

Whats your computer specs? Especially need to know the motherboard make and model since some have issues like that. For instance mine without a bios update will revert to stock settings if you unplug the power.

I'm using the Asus P5N-D
Newegg.com - ASUS P5N-D LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

And I have a Q6700 if that helps.

Try overclocking in smaller increments, and make your way up. It's probably acting like a safeguard from major changes like that being made.

Maybe, but I was always able to just increase FSB with no problems, and it would save properly (or not boot). Which concerns me that there may be a problem with the board itself.

is it saving all the other settings that you change (other than the voltage)? or does the entire bios reset itself to defaults?

Voltage saves, nothing else does including FSB, RAM speed, etc.

Would that mean having to replace the entire board?

Have you try updating the BIOS to the newest revision?
