Thermal Paste on Heatsink

Can thermal paste be used along with the pad that is already installed on the bottom on the heatsink, or should the pad be removed if I am going to use the thermal paste?

I don't believe you should use both at the same time. Since the pad is already there (I'm assuming), unless you're going to do any OC'ing you can leave the pad there and it will be fine. However, if you plan to OC then it might prove to be better for OC'ing if you use the paste and take off the pad.
