I'm sorry if this sounds incredibly simple, but I'm not very handy with computers and would really appreciate hearing the answer from people who have a clue what they're talking about!

My mum and dad gave me their laptop which I would like to wipe by re-installing Windows. I have the Wondows disk but when I try to re-install it it asks me for a disk with the drivers which I do not have. Is there any way to continue without this disk or is it required for the task and if so how would I get it?

when is it asking you for your driver disk? Is it asking for 3rd party drivers for installation? what is the model of your laptop?

The model is a Dell XPS M1330. It asks me to install drivers near the start of the installation process.

Is there any way to skip this? Hit cancel or something? It shouldn't need them to install right away. You can normally download them from Dell's site later.

you are reinstalling vista correct? In this case you should not need any drivers until the os is installed.
