...check when a HDD was installed in a laptop?
I just got my laptop back from HP after a warrenty repair, and I noticed my HDD didn't sound the same. I also got a "Fail" with the HDD test in bios. It's not going back to have this checked at thier expense, but I'm wondering if they put a different HDD in my computer.
The other thing that makes me think this, is the HDD was reformatted. I had my Mobo replaced, but this service had nothing to do with my HDD. I didn't care cause I just reformatted it to send it to them. But when I got it back, there were new ad icons on the DT.
So besides knowing the serial number, I need a way to tell if this was the original drive somehow. Fast help would be great. This is due to be shipped out tomorrow.
