Quick ram question

What is better between these two ram sets:

Newegg.com - G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory
Newegg.com - G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

The first one has better timings (7-7-7-18), but it is only 1333 speed while the second one is 1600 speed, however, with worse timings (9-9-9-24). They are both 1.5-1.6 volts.

I plan to order my whole pc in like 2 hours, so I need to find a replacement to the other ram I was going to get: Newegg.com - OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory It was actually in stock before and only $180.

Oh yeah, one other thing I guess, can anyone recommend a wireless card for me? I have a WRT54G, but I may upgrade to an N router soon. Prolly gonna have to use wireless unfortunately.

I know I already have a topic about my build, but it has fallen off the first page, and there is only one person besides me even looking at it now, and I need a quick answer to this.

Dont buy an EVGA motherboard. Almost all of the other brands have better ones. Choose between the gigabyte, Biostar and Asus models. They are your best choices.

As for the memory I would go for the first set simply because the high clocked modules have much looser timings.

I was recommended that EVGA board by someone here. Hmmm, I guess the only thing I have to go off of is you having more posts.

Well evga's boards just don't really have any outstanding qualities as far as I know. The Asus is a good choice, they are a quality company. And yes that P6T you chose should be fine.

Gigabyte is cheaper after rebate and just as good imo

lots of people have the EVGA X58, it's not a bad board. veedub has one, it got his i7 up to 4.4ghz (or in that ball park) it really depends on what you are going to be doing with the board.

as far as the ram question goes, the 1600MHZ are faster at the slower timings. i saw a benchmark about it once. the extra mhz make up for the slower timings.

get this ram instead, since the OCZ is extremely expensive and out of stock

I know its not bad, but I see no real reason to choose it over any of the other brands we recommend.

Should I stick with the Asus though for $50 less? I'll see about that ram. I guess I can go for it at that price... If I had to pick one of the ones I listed, 1600 or 1333? 1600?

go with the ram i listed, unless the OCZ comes back in stock.

the asus and EVGA are both very good boards. but spend less with the asus, unless you are going to do tri SLI or tri Crossfire.
