Now I'm not saying I have an unofficial copy of this software but, here's the deal. My display adapter wouldn't let my copy of XP pro sleep so I disabled it.

Now my screen goes blank at the password screen. If I type my password it still starts (I know this because I can hear the startup tones shortly after) but the screen is still jet black. When I try to reboot in safe mode it hangs at the mup.sys driver.

Does anybody know how I can cure this wihout resorting to purchasing another copy of the O/S?

Yours still a mere technical beginner
