high temps.... not sure if this is safe

Yep, it's running, just not sure how fast, I have tried a few apps to get it to run a bit faster but nothing works right... I even have a side intake blowing cool air right at the card so...
 
Ya, that's definitely bad on idle, and with an HD 3850, the card downlocks itself on Idle...

Can you do a screenie on Load? Also, try RivaTuner to set the default fan speed
 
Guess you didn't interperet the temps right, 97C load, 41C idle, 54C is only showing because I was watching a movie.

BTW, I can't get riva tuner to work in vista x64....
 
Oh.. sorry my Math test today in Calc has somewhat fried my brain.. I apologize....

But let me try mine out...

EDIT: mine hits around 79 C on load and mine is OC'ed a lot!
