Well, you could go for a Athlon XP setup They are still competant CPU's, and it will cut your bill by atleast $150 or so

I suggest looking into a 2800+ or 3000+

It'll kick the 9800's ass thats for sure. Its the mainstream model of the 6800....gonna have 500MHZ core and memory speed I believe with 128mb DDR3 memory and 8 pipelines. Not everycan upgrade to an athlon 64 so for his case I doubt he can afford that overhaul you suggest beedubaya....we'd all buy that if we could.

Yea, wait for the 6600GT, it will even dominate ATi's top X800 cards.
