anyways thanks for the advice, so it isn't just my comp's ati tool that is wierd and now i know what artifacts look like.

lol yeah I said that was an EXTREME scenario...although there is a website like 'COMPUTERDEATH.COM' or something like that where a fire started in this guys computer at the IDE Cable attached to the motherboard and they were about to walk out to go somewhere until their son noticed the smoke and extinguished the fire...coulda and probably woulda burned down their house.
