I know it's redundant but...

What would it take (as far as mobo, cpu, GFX) to comfortably (ie 45 FPS and up) push DX10 Crysis @ 1680x1050 Very High settings? ( AA on/off doesn't quite matter to me)

It's a little bit of a challenge to find a review that answers this question

Um. For a GPU I guess the very lowest you would need is 2x 9800GTX+ in SLI. Or you could just buy a GTX295.

Cpu, the new phenoms handle well, and of course, i7. I'm sure the higher end C2Ds are alright too.

oh dear... the infamous question. get an i7 build with a gtx295 and you should be good

crysis or warhead??

I can post screens @ 1680x1050 running the benchmark tool.

I love them both, Warhead is a little more "optimized" but still a **** of a game

So your choice b/c i play both.

I am considering the x4 940 because the overall upgrade cost is far less of the cost of an i7 build, I've seen a review showing how much the higher C2D bottle neck once you hit the big time cards and was looking at the E8500 but decided to go ahead and get something newer.

Well you'll probably have to update your mobo for the PII anyway...have you found that out yet?
