I thought the q6600's that come in new batches OC like B2 Phenoms that can't break 3.0ghz without seriously dangerous voltage..

3.5ghz was with the older good batches of the g0 q6600

TBH i've never had a q6600 that wouldn't do at least 3.4ghz on 1.45V or less...I've also had a few of the later "bad" steppings and they still did 3.6ghz with 1.48V...not amazing but certainly not bad at all

it took 1.5+ for me to get 3.2 :(
i guess it wasn't really the voltage, it really was the temps that bothered me.
now i have a 9450 that will do 3.6 with less than 1.25V, so i am pretty critical of high voltage chips.

1.5 for 3.2? Sounds like more than just a stubborn chip to me. I bet if you could give it another go you would get a higher clock.

stubborn? yeah. i wanted to beat the crap out of it. i was like..."here i am giving up AMD for intel and i got a dud"...
plus, i had a p5q pro at the time, probably would have done better on my super-golden p5q deluxe that i have now. i love this mobo.
