Graphics Card Upgrade

My current setup is in my sig...

I'm looking to spend $150-200 and haven't really been keeping up with cards over the past year so I'm hoping you guys can help me out a little.

I'm looking at:

4850 - ~$150
4870 - ~$200
9800 - ~$125
GTX 260 - ~$250

As of now I'm probably going to go with the 9800GT or 4850, but with the new 265 and 295 being released the prices should drop right?

I'm in no hurry to upgrade but I'll be doing it in the next month or so.

well things have really sped up lately, umm I'd go with the 4850 unless you gaming then I'm pretty sure the 4870 512MB cards go for around ~$175 and up

If you look for deals, the GTX280 goes about $200 on buy.com

That was a mistake...

The HD 4870 and HD 4850 takes first and second place out of those 4 cards respectively

There are almost no deals on 280's. Buy.com made a huge mistake and cancelled all orders.

Thanks for the help guys. Would any of you know roughly what the benchmarks for the cards are? I'm just hoping to get a good reference of the difference.

I only ask because I have the options open for crossfire as well.

Would 2x3870 beat a 4870? It'd be roughly the same price too.

That's pretty much what it's coming down to for me right now. I'm just looking for the best bang for my buck.

they have 3870X2s you know john... anyways, the 4870 will beat the 3870X2 in just about every benchmark out... plus it will be more compatible for gaming as single cards will run into far less driver level issues than CFX or SLI setups
