K7 and K8 are the names of AMD processor production models. The K7 and K8 have similar designs, which means your cooling plate will fit them.

Seriously, though...If you don't know about processor sockets and standards, you shouldn't be messing around with advanced cooling systems. I would seriously suggest doing some reading first.

I really need something that cools well cuz i fried a processor before and a vid card - i really like overclocking stuff.

Thermaltake stuff is really good. I wouldn't doubt the quality of it.

If you're overclocking things to the point where you think you need water-cooling, and you don't even know what a K7 is, that's just sending up red flags.

I'm get'n the jibblies here, people...Anyone else?

Just make sure you do some reading first so you are sure of how everything will work before you try it. Water and electronics don't mix well if you mess up :)

Well, he must know something. a 3000+ at 3.0ghz? Like-whoa.

Thats a hell of a clock... I agree you do need some mondo cooling for that.

So will it fit on my mobo and cpu thats the only thing i wanna know if it does im getting it today?

Yeap. It will fit Ath XPs, according to the page, along with P4s.

K7s are socket A, which is the same ZIF size as a socket 370, so when anything says K7, 370, or A, it means what you have.

K8... thats the 64s, right?
