and i'm going to buy a dvi to hdmi converter so i can use my hdmi cable on the monitor end and the dvi part in my graphics card. will my graphics card be able to handle the full res? (i game alot btw)
It's mostly the GPU for res, and yes, it's good. You can set it to 1680x1050 res, too, so it's a nice choice.Once you have the money, try selling your card, and buying 2 ATi cards to Crossfire, you have a crossfire board. But your card is good for now.

Crossfiring increases speeds by 60-70% not really worth doing from a starting point build better for second hand small upgrtade to tide you over until your next big graphics purchase.
