new motherboard ftw

as some of you may know, my last mobo limited my OC'ing.
it would not allow me to increase voltage without BSOD.

just did my first try on the new mobo (m3n72-d)
and was able to load right up @ 3.4 with multi set @ 17
voltage @ 1.4ish and my temps still around 30C idle.

ill try for a better clock right now.

tried for 17.5 multi, no cookie.
didnt feel like pushing bus to its limit, i doubt i can do 3.5GHz.
my phenom will be here soon atleast

7750 can't take a bus overclock for ****.

Even at 205 my computer wouldn't load.

But Deneb is able to get up to 250 on the bus. While I've also seen screenshots of Deneb overclocks with a 300bus overclock. But overclocking older Phenoms through the bus, is basically impossible.

You're using a core contact cooler, right? And you're getting 30c idle? What are you getting at stress? Say, Prime95?

i have not run any stress tests.

ill try upping the voltage later on tonight to see if i can get 3.5 or 3.6
i gotta get back the top x2 superpi score, and for some reason, 3.4 superpi wasnt good enough, 24.4sec

How are you liking your Black Edition? I gave some real thought to buying one and not getting the I7. What really made up my mind in the end was not the benchmarks or anything like that. It was this MO Gigabyte X58 Extreme 1366.
I am a HUGE AMD fan. I really really wanted to go with a matched set ASUS/ATI/AMD. Its just that MO is so so sweet.
