:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: :drool::drool::drool::drool:

i need one then! wow!

EDIT:the only thing i dont understand is why in the other thread everyone got on my case when i said invidias 260 core 216 was 448-bit, and ATI was 256, everyone said that gddr5 still outperformed.

basically they said this:

gddr5 256-bit >>>>>gddr3 448-bit

they said that bandwidth meant more than bus size....guess they were wrong lol

Yes the 256bit GDDR5 gives you more bandwidth than 448bit DDR3, one uses a narrow bus with faster memory, one has a wider bus with slower memory, the end result is almost the same. The only thing that matters with memory bus's are the bandwidth.

Doesn't make much difference anyway... the GTX 295 is still better.

hmmm.... if the 4870 had better drivers it would probably be better right?

i am an nVidia guy, but over the last month everyone has proven to me time and time again that the 4870 is a whole new direction.

the 4850 and 4870 look very impressive and whats impressive is 1 gb of dedicated video memory at gddr5....

however...now i am iffy again....lol:confused:

4870 does not outperform the GTX 280.

The reason the 4870 gave the 280 a run for its money upon release. Was due to the fact that the 280 was released at $700 while the 4870 was very close in performance and released for $300~.

But no 4870 does not outperform the GTX 280.

Plus the HD 4870 ran cooler and had its 55nm (the 4870) :)

But GTX 260 Core 216 came along (65nm also) to give the HD 4870 some competition, then it was a matter of, "which do you like better"

Normally the GTX 260 (216 version). So if you SLI some where down the road or so on. It will perform better then the 4870X2 or 4870s in Cross fire. WHile the GTX 260 (216 version) in SLI outperforms the 4870X2 the 4870s in crossfire won't.

But keep in mind, with either setup. You will be getting like insane FPS.
