Re: Tech Forums Official SuperPi 1M Top List

1.5 Vcore+. Anything less then that and it won't boot.

But 3.00ghz is fine with 1.4Vcore. So that may be my new 24/7 clock.

It seems my chip was a flop. Hopefully yours will fair better.

me too! im no where near 1.4v atm.

whats a safe voltage for me to try with new board, 1.3ish?

Re: Tech Forums Official SuperPi 1M Top List

Taste I don't see the point in going with a 1.3 Vcore and raising the multiplier once. Just set the multiplier to 17.5 up the Vcore to 1.6 and see if it boots.

If it does then keep dropping the voltage until the temps are managable. Most chips hit a wall and once they reach that wall. They require a crap load of voltage to get past it.

So for all you know, 16 multiplier might be your max overclock as well.

Re: Tech Forums Official SuperPi 1M Top List

Ill be updating soon if any scores need to be added.

Also watch out, im gonna aim for 16 seconds on the amd side.

Re: Tech Forums Official SuperPi 1M Top List

think the x3220 can tough out a hotter temp in comparison to the q6600 but perhaps that was just bs I was reading. Although I thought I read 70C was max temp on x3220 and I think the q6600 is like 60C.. so iono

Water cooling is the only way you'd hit 16 seconds even with the 940.

You need the chip at like 4.5ghz+ to get 16 seconds.
