ok so I currently have a 9800GT Video Card along with a Dual Core 4600 2.4GHz CPU and this mobo I have 3gigs of ram one 1gb stick and one 2gb stick both DDR2 800 PC6400 and a 500watt PSU so heres my problem when playing GTA my CPU Usage spikes to 100% randomly so im thinking my problem is my CPU but someone told me its because I dont dual channel my ram so im trying to findout what I need to upgrade and what should I get I have about a $200 budget

it is normal for the cpu usage to spike to 100% since you only have a amd dual core.

Dude, all CPU's will do that.. even Intel's best dual-core the e8600.. even if OC'ed
It'll load 100% of all dual-cores but that will not happen on Quad-Cores, because its optimized quite well for Quads..
You have a 9800GT, and since GTA IV loves nVidia cards your 9800GT is fine.. try to get a decent Quad..

ya switiching between crysis wmp and fire fox and aim some times will spike my cpu usage to 100% it is best nowadays to go with a quad.
