Im starting a PC build soon haven't ordered any parts yet because Im not 100% if what im buying is ok for what I want it for (internet browsing, media, maybe a few pc games exclusives so just general use really). The list of stuff I have so far is

Motherboard, CPU and ram bundle ($170)- Komplett.ie - Komplett Upgrade Kit AMD Edition

Graphics Card ($85)- Komplett.ie - Asus GeForce 9400GT 1GB PhysX CUDA

HDD($103)- Komplett.ie - Samsung SpinPoint F1 750GB SATA2

DVD Drive ($40)- Dabs Ireland - HP DVD 1040i DVD+/-RW/RAM IDE (3743220072)

And im getting vista ultimate.

Any help would be much appreciated:D Thanks in advance

Sounds like an alright build. I would recommend a Seagate drive, or the WD 640gb black series. Should be a bit cheaper.

Also, if you can, grab a SATA type DVD drive instead of IDE.

and the 9400gt would accually be slower than the 512mb version because the ram bottle necks the core. also like hikaricloud said go with a SATA DVD drive

Thanks but I thought 32 bit systems could handle up to 3.5GB between the graphics card and ram? And would the HD performance only be noticeable in a benchmark test?:freak: I just confused myself:(

3.25gb actually. You can stick more in, but it will only read the 3.25.
