I'm gonna build a new comp for my sis. She only uses it for internet, chatting, and usually no games. I bought a SOYO "SY-P4I865PE Plus DRAGON 2 V1.0" 865PE last week because it was free after rebate (and hopefully they'll send me the check....)

I dunno if I should use this and get a 2.8c Ghz P4 HT, or get an nf7-s with a 2500+. THe price will be pretty much the same.

OR

THIS and THIS

Will the SOYO motherboard be really crappy??

and for the other parts, I came up with....

Seagate 80GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive, Model ST380013AS, OEM $73

OCZ Enhanced Latency Series 184 Pin 256MB DDR PC-3200 x 2 $110

Thermaltake W0014 Silent Purepower 480W with Black housing - Xaser Edition ATX 2-Fan Power Supply $61

Toshiba SDR5272 / 8x4x12x DVD±RW / 32x10x40x CD-RW $60

this is total of about $500, without the graphics card. I'll buy a case under $50(With shipping).

and would that be the fastest and most reliable memory for the price?? im not sure of that.

Thx for the help everyone

hmm in another forum people are saying that i should get the 2500+ and the NF7-S and overclock it to 3200+.....confused now

i feel that the 2.8 can beat the XP 2500+ . . . if we're talking about 64, then it's a whole 'nother story . . .

definetely the 2.8C

they are both very overclackable chip (2500 mobile taht is) but the 2.8 imo is better, it can get to 3.2 easily. plus u already got the mobo, just get a good hsf.

psht...riiiiight....Intel has gotta compare a 3.4GHz chip to an AMD 2.2GHz......see the difference there? If AMD had created a chip to run at speeds of 3.4GHz like they are now..intel would have to build a freakin 6GHz chip just to keep up. AMD's can do more per instruction than Intels...Kinda sad that this 2.2GHz 3200+ is BARELY outperformed by a 2.5GHz intel....they gotta go up 1.2GHz higher just to say 'Hey look we beat em!' but yeah a 64 would just own intel into the ground. the 35w 2400+ XP-M people have gotten to 2.5-2.6 on air and if youve got really good cooling you can get it up to 2.8. One dude had his up to 3.1GHz!! But yeah he had a damn near vapochill setup. Anyway, I would say the best option is a 35w 2400+XP-M cooler temps...up until you start overclocking....already unlocked....you can easily get it to be comparable with that 2.8c

DON"T GO INTEL DAMNIT!!! COME BACK TO THE LIGHT!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!

EDIT:
Get the 2.8c. Alot better than just overclocking a 2500+ to a 3200+.
