i have just recently bought a new GForce 6800 GT card from XFX. i was just a little worried about the temperature that the graphic temp reading were showing at ideal the temp of the card was around 55 to 57 0C and at stress levels the temp was around 70 to 75 0C is this too hot??? or is that temperature normal??. i have not come across any artifacts yet...

if the graphic card is too hot then what could i do to solve the problem.

all the fans in the case a drawing air out of the case could this be a factor for overheating.

thanks

pc specification

P4 3.4 Ghz Northwood
1025 MB ram DDR 400
74 GB western raptor hard drive 10K rpm
256 MB 6800 GT by XFX graphics card
MSI 875P Neo motherboard
400 watt psu
Zorro Pc case

Graphics cards are allowed to run a little hotter than cpu's for comparison sake, but i still think 75 is pretty hot. you don't want all of your fans blowing out though. Generally you want the fans in the front blowing into the case and the ones in the back blowing out so you have a constant flow of air through the case. Try doing that first, and if not you may have some other problems.

My X800 Pro runs at similar temperatures. Should be fine, just don't try any overclocking unless you get a new heatsink/fan for your card.
