My other computer at first just froze up out of nowhere one day, so I tried to turn it off but I couldn't so I yanked the cord.
I turned it back on and tried to log in, but as soon as I clicked on the profile, the hard drive light went black and everything froze. I went into safe mode and As I tried to log into an account with it, the screen went black and white writing appeared above, and it said safe mode on the bottom of the screen.
Then, out of nowhere, the computer started to work after like 5 attempts with safe mode and logging in. It said, "serious error recovered." But then I turned the computer of to go to sleep, and the next day when I tried to log on, The hard drive light went black again.
Any thoughts.?

Sounds like you need to do a check disk on your hard drive.

You can do it from the XP CD. Use the XP CD go to the Recovery Console and there are commands there that you can run chkdsk /r /f from there.

No need to boot into Windows at all.
